The Skin School
My project, titled “The Skin School” is a college for the youth that promotes the creation of “new histories”. This school offers an arts and science education where students are taught to embrace a new and alternate identity for Skopje. Students here craft transformative “skins” made of mycelium, a sustainable building material, adorned with unique ceramics creations, over existing structures from the Skopje 2014 project. The school itself is designed as an inhabitable “skin” built over current elements of the project. The college will be an evolving space where students are actively involved in its ongoing development and expansion.
